Hot Chocolate (paleo, gluten free, vegan, dairy free, egg free)

I love hot chocolate on a cold winter night. It reminds me of when I was kid and spent the day sledding or skiing and after, nothing sounded better than a cup of hot chocolate. It’s sweet, rich, and chocolatey. Of course back then I just used powdered hot chocolate from a packet, not the healthiest thing, but I was a kid and the only thing I cared about was that it tasted good. Fortunately, my hot chocolate now is free from dairy and refined sugar, but it doesn’t mean that it is free from flavor! So if you have just come back home from a long day of skiing/snowboarding, sledding, or it’s just cold outside and you want something hot and sweet, then you should try this!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk of choice (if using full fat coconut milk, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water)

  • 1 tbsp. + 1 tsp. cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp, maple syrup or honey

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a small-medium sauce pot. Turn heat on medium, and whisk for about 3-5 minutes or until hot.
